Scientific Name : Zamioculcas zamiifolia

Common Name : ZZ Plant, Zuzu Plant, Eternity Plant

Zamioculcas is grown as an ornamental plant, mainly for its attractive glossy foliage and easy care. The leaves are pinnate, 40–60 cm (16–24 in) long, with 6–8 pairs of leaflets 7–15 cm (3–6 in) long; they are smooth, shiny, and dark green. The stems of these pinnate leaves are thickened at the bottom. The flowers are produced in a small bright yellow to brown or bronze spadix 5–7 cm (2–3 in) long, partly hidden among the leaf bases; flowering is from mid summer to early autumn.The roots of the plants are rhizomatous and have the ability to store moisture, thus aiding the plants in their drought resistance. For this reason, the plant should be watered only when it is dry, to avoid overwatering. The best indoor, less maintenance plant and ideal for home and offices.

PLANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

LIGHT : It grows well in indoor places, or low light conditions. 

SOIL : They require superior drainage, with lots of chunky, rocky and inert materials mixed into their soil. Grow best  in sandy, rocky and well-drained potting mix.

WATERING : Watering the plant once or twice a month is more than sufficient. Avoid overwatering as it may also casue root rot easily.

FERTILIZER : Apply granular compund (N:P:K) fertilizer or organic fertilizer (chicken/goat/sheep manure) or Island liquid nutrient fortnightly.

INSTRUCTIONS TO USE ISLAND LIQUID NUTRIENT 

Dissolve 1 capful of Island Liquid Nutrient to 1 liter of water and pour the diluted nutrient over the soil. Apply once every 2 weeks for healthy and luxuriant growth.
